Conservation and Sustainable Utilisation of Underutilised Taro to Increase Food Security and Improve Livelihoods of Marginalised Communities Faced with Climate Change
Local taro varieties identified, Malaysia

Two locally adapted varieties of taro were identified for germplasm exchange.
Both the varieties are known in their local names as 'Keladi Wangi' and 'Keladi Putih'. The plant material were inoculated in-vitro in the laboratory and twelve tubes of each taro variety will be sent to country partners.

Discussions were held after a presentation on material exchange during the latest project progress meeting. Information on sample preparation, logistics arrangement, required forms and couriers were presented and country partners discussed and exchange information on preparations and what is needed.
